North Wales Wings - Owner’s and Riders of GoldWings

Welcome to North Wales Wings Feature

(a region of the Gold Wing Owner's Club of Great Britain)

North Wales Wings are owner’s and riders of GoldWings – the best touring bike in the world – ranging from 1000cc,1100cc,1200cc,1500cc and 1800cc.  We meet up regularly to ride in the hills and valleys of beautiful North Wales and beyond. We also take part in parades and displays as we raise money for charity. In addition to activities organised by the thirty-three  regions throughout the UK, there is a lot going on that you can take part in as part of the wider Gold Wing scene.

North Wales Wings is a region of The GoldWing Owner’s Club of Great Britain and as a member you can attend any event organised in any of the regions such as camping weekends, B&B and Hotel based events, one-day events and much more. GWOCGB is affiliated to the Gold Wing European Federation(GWEF), Motorcycle Action Group (MAG),British Motorcyclists federation (BMF) and National Association for Riders with Disabilities (NABD). As well as displays at major bike shows, GWOC has a very active Classic Bike section,  which displays at Classic Bike Shows. In November 2008 at the NEC, GWOCGB won the Shell Scheme Award for the club stand. Many of us travel abroad either as a couple or as a group and there are International events for you to take part in. About the Region.

North Wales Wings is a small region which stretches over a large area from North West Wales and Ynys Mon (Isle of Anglesey), over Snowdonia, across to North East Wales and down as far as the Brecon Beacons in Mid Wales. The day to day business is managed by our Regional Rep –Christine Prescott who has been a member for over ten years and has held various positions in the region during that time. Husband Allen has always supported her.

  • Meetings are on the first Sunday of the month at the Best Western Waterloo Hotel & Lodge,betws-y-Coed,Snowdonia.Telephone:  01690 710411, where we will make you very welcome as a visitor or new member. Members take part in as much or as little as they want to but often are spoiled for choice of what to do or where to go. We often go in search of ice cream!

We have a diary of runs to interesting places and like to join in with other regions in their activities. Over the years we have covered a large part of North Wales and neighbouring areas. There is a full calendar on our What's On? page. If you are new to Winging and group riding there are some tips and guidelines for safety on the Group Riding page.

  • Throughout the year we take part in various events, when requested, to raise money for charity. Our Wingers of course see this as another excuse (do you need an excuse?) to ride their Gold Wings. Without the support and involvement of our members,(and their wives whether they ride or not). these would not be the success which they always are.

  •  Our Features page gives a snapshot view of activities and our Gallery page has a variety of photos from the 2000 Andorran Drop Out in the Pyrenees, to the present day.
