With an enviable setting amongst 500 acres of farms, parklands, lake, woodland and sports facilities, including our own golf course, you can't help feeling at home at Reaseheath.
To keep pace with our rapid expansion we have substantially added to, and improved our specialist teaching facilities, including a learning resource area, purpose built teaching block, new practical facilities, enhanced IT suites and cross-college computer specification.
Hand in glove with this development and over the past and within the current year, we have developed our accommodation, leisure, private study, catering and sporting facilities, including: a new catering suite, 95 en-suite single study bedrooms (to complement a further 200 bedrooms), climbing wall and fitness suite, and refurbished bar.
Specialist study facilities include: A 186 hectare farm, with the world famous Genus MOET (Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer) dairy herd, pig unit and sheep flock and growing a full range of forage and arable crops.
Countryside students benefit from the variety of on-site habitats, including woodland, lake, ponds, hedgerows and trails, with work regularly undertaken in National Parks, private estates and 'Trust' areas.
An Animal Care Unit with a wide range of mammals, reptiles and birds from commonly kept pets to exotic tropical species, with zoo license pending. There are also facilities for studying indoor and outdoor fish species. Excellent links are maintained with Chester Zoo and the Cheshire Wildlife Trust.
An Equine Unit with stabling for over 30 horses, two outdoor riding arenas, cross country course and local veterinary group equine clinic on site.
Newly equipped and licensed Food Technology development, manufacturing and processing facilities, supported by chemistry and microbiology laboratories for food analysis and quality testing, contributing much to our Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status.
Horticulture and allied courses enjoy the 12 hectares of landscaped grounds, a nine-hole golf course, demonstration fruit and vegetable garden, garden centre, plant nursery and greenhouses. Florists benefit from a new purpose built practical suite, including preparation and cold store unit.
Engineering students benefit from 7 specialist workshops, some dedicated to our work with leading manufacturers, including: Bentley Motor Cars, Case New Holland, JCB and Hewden Stewart.
Three specialist indoor Construction workshops allow for full and small scale build in this rapidly expanding area of the College.
The specialist outdoor ropes course and an indoor climbing wall are complemented by Adventure Sports undertaking most of their activity outside the campus in areas easily reached in dedicated minibuses.
Our well established Business and IT programmes benefit from up to date networked computer facilities and links with a wide range of companies upon which their practical and case studies may be based.
Pre-entry, Entry and Foundation students benefit not only from the full range of specialist teaching facilities across the College but also from a dedicated and highly experienced team of staff supporting students in their study and life skills irrespective of the course being studied.
