Mid-Cheshire College is a thriving further education college with three centres located in Hartford, Northwich and Winsford. They can realistically claim to be one of the most successful colleges in the country with OFSTED judging the College to be an "Outstanding" institution at the last major inspection.
Facilities Teaching & Learning The College has excellent facilities for teaching and learning, with well-equipped learning environments in vocational areas such as Beauty Therapy, Engineering, Art & Design, Motor Vehicle, Construction and Catering. IT facilities are excellent with very high ratios of computers to students.
Sport and Recreation The College has well resourced ‘Rec Zones' at each campus which are the hub of student out-of-class activity. Each is equipped with pool and video music entertainment. Lunchtime recreation activities are also available at Hartford and Winsford. The Rec Zone at Hartford also provides the venue for special exhibitions, meetings, plays and concerts.
Students have free access to College Fitness Centres Monday to Friday lunchtimes at Hartford and Monday to Wednesday at Winsford. Students undergo an induction programme before using the facilities, and have access to personal fitness advice. Opportunities are also available to participate in sport.
Library Services You’ll find the College libraries and the Learning Zone helpful places to study outside normal class times. There are books and other resources to support your course and help you get the best marks. You will also find helpful staff to support you in finding and using the information that you need. All college students and staff, no matter where they study of teach, are welcome to use any of the college’s libraries

All users are asked to respect the quiet working atmosphere expected in all the college libraries.
The libraries each have computers that you can use to work on assignments, search for information in the eLibrary, the high quality online resources that the college subscribes to, or on the Web.
Also have a Virtual Learning Environment (or VLE) called Blackboard, that your teachers use to enhance your learning experience by including computers and the Internet in the learning process. Different teachers use the VLE in different ways including storing course information and assignments; online quizzes; interactive tools such as discussions or wikis; displays of student work; and Internet links to outside curriculum resources.
You will also be given your own password protected space on the student network to save files etc, which you can access from outside the college, and your own student email address. For more information on the topics listed in this section of the guide you will be able to go to the student intranet where new information is being added all the time (see link at the bottom of your screen).

Mid Cheshire College is located in Hartford, right in the heart of Cheshire, on a pleasant greenfield campus. The local town of Northwich is only 2 miles away, a busy market town, offering a variety of shops, supermarkets and free parking as well as a range of pubs, restaurants and sports facilities. For more variety the bigger cities of Chester, Manchester and Liverpool are all within easy travelling distance.
The College specialises in vocational education and provides real training for real work in a real environment, including state-of-art music recording studios, dance studios, beauty salons, engineering, motor vehicle and carpentry workshops and restaurant and catering.
Hartford Campus, Chester Road, Northwich, CW8 1LJ (Click for Map, Labeled 1) This site is two miles outside Northwich on Chester Road. Most of the full-time courses are offered here, and the majority of our students are based here. The College is a recognised Centre of Excellence for Art & Design courses and is currently Grade 1 outstanding in this area. The campus is on a main bus route and both Hartford and Greenbank railway stations are within walking distance.
London Road Studios, London Road, Northwich, CW9 8AQ (Click for Map, Labeled 2) This site houses Fashion, Photography and some Joinery and Plumbing courses. It is about 10 minutes walk from the main bus stop on Chesterway, Northwich and is between Northwich and Greenbank railway stations.
Winsford Campus, Weaver Street, Winsford, CW7 4AA (Click for Map) Our Winsford campus is a state-of-the-art Education facility In the centre of Winsford. Coming from Northwich onto the A54 roundabout, take the second exit onto Weaver Street and the building is immediately on your right.
There are also have a number of Community Venues where many of the non-vocational courses are run.
