If you are interested in bees and the environment try and spent some time at the Honey show there will be Beekeepers on hand to discuss all about Bees. Be it honey bees or bumble bees and how you can help them survive and prosper with a little conservation, within your garden or farm.
On display will be observation hives enabling the showing of the bee-colony; queen bee, workers, bee brood, eggs and larva.
Modern methods of beekeeping and bee hive parts will be available for examining and discussion with one of the Cheshire Beekeepers.
In the show there will be examples of:
•Honey from various floral and non-floral nectar sources (giving differing colours of jarred honey).
•Cut comb honey
•Honey on the frame as removed from the beehive ready for extraction.
•Fermented honey in the form of mead.
•Beeswax and an explanation of the cleaning and harvesting of beeswax.
•Beeswax candles- making for the children with a beekeeping demonstrator to discuss the differing types of candles and how they are judged.
•Save some money for the range of local Cheshire honeys for sale along with beeswax and other hive products.
