Bolesworth International – 16th - 19th June

This year's Bolesworth International CSI **** will have a golden glow with confirmation that Great Britain's Olympic title-winning dressage and showjumping teams from London 2012 are to be reunited.

Olympic dressage champions Charlotte Dujardin, Carl Hester and Laura Tomlinson will lead a stellar entry in an eagerly-awaited freestyle to music class on June 16 - Bolesworth's opening day - with Hester confirming he will be aboard likely Rio Olympics ride Nip Tuck.

And the thrills do not stop there, as Nick Skelton is among the showjumping entries with brilliant stallion Big Star, when he will be joined by London team-mates Scott Brash and Ben Maher, while the fourth member of that quartet, Peter Charles, will be at the picturesque Cheshire venue supporting his rider daughters Scarlett and Sienna.

Dujardin is the reigning Olympic, World and European individual champion, while she also holds all of dressage's world records aboard the brilliant Valegro. Her Bolesworth appearance comes less than three weeks before the Great Britain equestrian team for Rio is scheduled to be announced.

Hester, meanwhile, guided Britain to team gold at London, when he joined forces with Dujardin and Laura Bechtolsheimer (now Tomlinson), and is globally renowned as one the sport's most prominent figures.

Bolesworth's global appeal is illustrated by the fact that 18 countries and four continents are represented among the four-star showjumping field.

Those Bolesworth-bound from June 16-19 include multiple major championship medallist Michael Whitaker, Bolesworth 2014 Grand Prix winner William Whitaker, reigning Liverpool International Grand Prix champion Billy Twomey, 2013 European team gold medallist William Funnell and British Nations Cup regular Guy Williams.

Yazmin Pinchen, who won a thrilling Bolesworth Grand Prix last summer, will make a return appearance, while joining Twomey among a powerful Irish contingent are Shane Breen, Trevor Breen, Denis Lynch and Dermot Lennon, in addition to Americans Laura Kraut, Reed Kessler, Lauren Hough and Hannah Selleck, daughter of superstar actor Tom Selleck.

Dujardin and Hester will compete at Bolesworth just 51 days before the Rio Olympics ceremony, offering fans a dream opportunity to watch them in action as they continue their Olympic countdown.

And they will also be paying a visit to an exciting new Bolesworth attraction this year - The Equine Zone - which introduces a fabulous Fanzone and Learning Zone.

The Fanzone will feature regular rider guest appearances throughout the four days, with riders taking time out to meet and greet the public and taking part in photo opportunities and autograph-signing sessions throughout the day.

Visitors are also invited to join an exciting programme of events in the Learning Zone, which offers free educational talks and discussions designed to appeal across a breadth of equestrian expertise and incorporating various topical equestrian subjects. Each session includes a panel made up of experts, specialists, vets and riders.

Learning Zone sessions will take place in a specially-designed theatre within the Equine Zone between 11am and 4pm each day. They will run every hour on the hour, lasting for for approximately 20 minutes.

And with the Olympics just weeks away after Bolesworth, it’s an exciting time for equestrian sport, and Great Britain's showjumping performance manager Di Lampard will be present on Friday, June 17 to talk through the ‘Road To Rio’, being joined by dressage and showjumping stars.

A prize fund of almost £60,000 has been announced for the final day's headline Equerry Horse Feeds Grand Prix, and if that is not enough to whet the appetite, then show-stopping performances from pop bands Atomic Kitten, 5ive and Retake That are also in store.

Numerous other family attractions include a new equine learning zone that will feature rider guest appearances, camel racing, a funfair, action-packed displays, bistro and champagne bar, fine food, fashion & lifestyle zone, plus a shop until you drop experience guaranteed by around 130 retail outlets.

Friday's theme is Business Networking Day, with showjumping and the puissance being accompanied by the elite auction, which will see the sale of 12 of the finest bred yearlings sourced throughout Europe, and was such a success at Bolesworth last year. Friday evening will also see a performance from English boy band 5ive, plus an "Official After Party" with DJ and fully licensed bar in the Bistro marquee until 2am.

On Saturday, para showjumping makes its Bolesworth debut in the Castle Arena, while the International Arena hosts the two-star grand prix final, before evening entertainment features a world-ranking class against the clock, celebrity camel racing, and the event's feature concert by chart-topping Atomic Kitten.

Horse Show set for another New Year spectacular!

World-class sport, music and entertainment will be combined in spectacular fashion when the Equestrian.com Liverpool International Horse Show returns to the city's Echo Arena later this year.

The 2017 event, which begins on December 31 and will be headlined in true New Year's Eve party fashion by operatic band and former Britain's Got Talent winners Collabro, was launched on Monday along Liverpool's waterfront.

Providing a taste of things to come was top Irish showjumper Billy Twomey - the inaugural Liverpool Grand Prix winner - who treated spectators to his riding skills by jumping the beautifully-designed Liver Building fence against a stunning backdrop.

And there was also a Shetland Pony Grand National showcase race to whet the appetite for their Liverpool International appearance on all three days from December 31-January 2, when other attractions will include performances from Abba tribute band Revival and internationally-renowned carriage driver George Bowman.

The soaraway success of Liverpool International 2016 saw capacity crowds pack the Echo Arena, while riders from all parts of the world hailed its inception to the sporting calendar as an event that is here to stay.

Once again, Liverpool will be a CSI **** show, with a total prize fund of £200,000 and all-important points on offer in terms of the Longines world rankings.

New Year's Eve, meanwhile, sees Collabro taking centre-stage, a group whose debut album Stars went straight to the top of the UK album charts in October, 2014, and who command a worldwide fan-base after bursting to prominence by enthralling millions - not to mention Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams - on national television.

Liverpool's box office New Year production will also include indoor fireworks and an unforgettable party atmosphere as 2017 is set to be seen in amid great scenes of celebration.

Visitors to the Liverpool International can treat themselves to a variety of food and drink experiences, including a bistro-style restaurant, a luxurious champagne bar situated alongside the collecting ring and a new Mersey View Restaurant, offering family dining overlooking the River Mersey.

And the adjoining BT convention Centre will again house a shopping village with outlets retailing high-end clothing, equestrian accessories, giftware, fine foods and beautiful things for the home.  This will be expanded for 2017 following huge demand last year.

Tickets for all three days of the show are available to buy at the Echo Arena box office.

Adult prices start at £19.50, with children aged under 14 beginning at £10. Additionally, this year, new platinum band tickets offering front-row seats will also be available, while adult group bookings of 15 people or more in silver and bronze-seated areas carry a 20 per cent discount, with popular family tickets for two adults and two children again on offer.

Liverpool show president Nina Barbour said: "We are hugely-excited to be back in the wonderful city of Liverpool ahead of what I know will be another not-to-be missed event.

"We were all left spellbound by the success of our inaugural 2016 show, which attracted fantastic support from the people of Liverpool and beyond, and together with competitors and performers alike, we are greatly looking forward to another three days at the superb Echo Arena that are sure to live long in the memory."
