Spirit of Christmas

Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir

Liverpool Philharmonic’s long established Carol Concerts, led by Ian Tracey, are an unmissable part of Christmas on Hope Street. The full Orchestra and our terrific choruses serve up a mouth-watering spread of Yuletide music for the whole family: all your favourite and traditional carols – Silent Night, O Holy Night, Come all ye Faithful – mingled with seasonal readings from our host, Classic FM’s John Suchet. and this year, there’s a very special surprise in the stocking – the show-stopping accordion playing of guest star Ksenija Sidorova, bringing some lovely Christmas treats. Trust us, hearing is believing! Entertainment guaranteed – plus, of course, a good old festive singalong!

Parking for this concert, except on 17 December, is available at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral car park for £4. You can book and pre-pay for parking when you click on ‘Book Tickets’

Book your pre-show dinner now in our splendid Grand Foyer with a seasonal menu of classics. Dinners are £16.50 per person for 2 courses (save £1 per person on normal prices when booked in advance).

The Human League

The new wave darlings are back with A Very British Synthesizer Group: The Anthology Tour.

Formed in the late 70s by Sheffield-based computer programmers Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware, The Human League evolved into one of the seminal 80s electro pop bands. Fronted by former hospital porter, Philip Oakey – and featuring vocalists Susan Ann Sulley and Joanne Catherall – the band went on to record some of the most influential songs of the decade and, to date, have sold more than 20 million records.

Belshazzar's Feast

Are they classical? Are they folk? Are they a category not even dreamed of yet by the reviewers? The answer to all three questions is undoubtedly YES - and they’re a lot more besides.

Belshazzar’s Feast starts with traditional folk , adds a touch of classical and jazz, throws in a bit of music hall and tops it all off

with wry humour.

Paul Sartin (Bellowhead, Faustus) on voice, fiddle and oboe plus Paul Hutchinson (Hoover The Dog) on voice and accordion

Christmas with The Overtones

Plus support from Ben McKelvey

The Overtones are torchbearers for flat-out fantastic singing, as much as a throwback to the timeless appeal of doo-wop and Motown as they are to modern day R&B and pop. Celebrating the most wonderful time of the year, with a stocking rammed full of Christmas crackers, in the shape of good ol’ classics such as ‘White Christmas’, ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’ and ‘Let It Snow’, this will end a vintage year for the Darren, Mark, Mike, Lachie and Timmy.

Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult
