THE HARD work of talented Wrexham people who have performed at the town’s street festivals has been praised by their local MP.
Wrexham MP Ian Lucas has thanked performers who took part in this weekend’s street festival – and all the dancers, singers, bands and choirs who have performed at festivals in the town throughout the year.
December’s street festival – which also marked Small Business Saturday – was the last of the year, and Mr Lucas attended throughout the day, meeting and thanking those who took part.
Performers of all kinds joined in, from two school groups from Ysgol Bro Alyn and Ysgol Penrhyn, to the Wrexham County Senior Brass band.
Singer Luke Gallagher and the Dancing Shoes group also performed, as did a choir from Gateway Church.
Mr Lucas, whose office helps organise the acts for each festival, said: “Each street festival is made more special by those acts willing to give up their time and perform – and I’d like to thank everyone who took part, both this weekend and throughout the year.
“Our street festivals have had some great entertainment throughout the year – from the bands who have worked alongside the Vic Studios to the host of choirs we welcomed to Wrexham for the Singing Streets festival.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has come along and performed for their help – and let them know it is very much appreciated.”
